Dress #26 Butterflies and Grey Chiffon Ruffles

I used these leaves for dress #26.

If anyone knows this plant's name, do add it in the comments.

Here's a closer view of the plant and its small purple flowers,

living as a shrub in partial shade in south Florida.

Dress #26 was made with only one kind of leaf, from this neighborhood plant, with a lot of water in the paint. I layered butterflies and leaves, and many greys and blues with a touch of purple-pink. The bodice is so delicate, it seems to be the perfect dress for fairies.

Dress # 27 Oriental Red Dress

It's really hard to photograph this dress,

but you can get an idea of it.

It's really special.

It has a lot of gold which shimmers.

I used the leaf shape symetrically.

Dress #28 Spring Colors

The paper is white Asian paper with delicate silver threads

which are not visible in the photo.
Note the waist made with

the movement of Spanish moss.

Dress #30 Swirls of Ferns

This dress was made with a rainforest fern, an ivy leaf, and flowers and acrylic paint.

It has highlights of sea blue glitter paint

which shine in person, but here

you can barely see, even if you click on the photo.

I wanted the same movement I saw

in a Marc Jacobs runway dress recently.

I love the result.

The feel of this dress is wonderful.

Dress #21 Jewel Colors and Butterflies

Jewel colors of reds, purples, greens, and some yellow: leaf prints on a very delicate pink-white Asian paper 25 x 37". Flower prints from the caladendron tree make the top bodice.

Tube-shaped "butterfly ginger" flowers inspired this piece, printed in purple, blue, and gold on pink handmade Asian paper 25 x 37".

Dress #25 Orange Teacup

Starting the blog with the 25th dress which is the newest creation from this summer. Full of leaves layered and layered like satin ruffles. The teacup skirt shape reminds me of fashion designer Erin Fetherston's adorable skirts from her winter '09 collection .
